Amazing antique c. 1910 Arts & Crafts movement black opal doublet sterling silver bracelet. Incredible workmanship in this gorgeous piece. A genuine black opal doublet is bezel set is sterling silver decorated with grape leaves and bunches. The design is highlighted with silver boule (spheres).

A breathtaking black opal doublet (see below) in hues of red, blue, green and yellow. The more colors an opal has out of these, the more valuable. This has them all! A truly gorgeous and precious stone.
Doublets consist of two layers adhered together with glue:
1. A black backing which is made of either black industrial glass, black potch (colourless opal), or other such material.
2 A slice of opal. The thickness of the opal in a doublet can vary, however it is generally thicker than the opal found in a triplet.
Condition: Excellent. Very little wear to silver, if any. Opal has a very shallow hairline scratch from the top to about 3/8” of the way down, which is only visible in certain light and does not detract from the stability or beauty of the stone.
Measurements: 6 3/4” in length. 1 3/8” from top to bottom. Opal measures approximately 25mm x 12mm (roughly 1” x 1/2”)
