What Size Belt Should I get?
As a rule of thumb your belt size should be 1-2 inches larger than your pant size/waist size. So if you have a pant size/waist size of 32 then your belt size should be a 34.
To measure this accurately you might want to measure your waist and/or a belt you currently own.
Measuring your belt
To measure your belt you will not be measuring it from end to end. Belt sizing doesn’t measure the whole length of the belt. You should measure from the buckle where the leather starts and measure to the hole that you generally use.
If you aren’t sure which hole you usually use then put your belt on to test.
The belt size is the measurement from where the leather starts at the buckle end to the middle hole so if you measured say 36 inches (91cm) from buckle to your most-used-whole then your belt size would be 36.
Measuring your Waist
Probably the easier way is to measure your waist where your belt will go. Simply:
Put on a pair of pants at the height you would normally wear them;
Thread a tape measure through the belt loops;
Inhale so your waist is at the largest it will be and
Take the measurement
This will be your belt size.
Most belts come in a range of sizes. So if you measured 38 inches (97cm) for example you would go for a 38” to 40” sized belt.
Of course there is a bit of leeway here. Most belts of our belts has 7 holes so you can afford to be a little bit off.
