*RARE* Antique 800 SILVER Ethnic TRIBAL Bangle Cuff Bracelet - FRENCH Hallmarks
RARE Antique solid silver tribal bangle cuff bracelet with gorgeous ethnic design and French hallmarks. This exceptionally thick & heavy piece features a raised relief design made up of several alternating symbols. The first is a circular design, which I believe represents the ‘Moon & Stars’. The second is an elaborate pattern framing an ‘Eye’. To either side of clasp there is a symbol which resembles a tree or arrow. These central carvings are bordered by a delicate herringbone or ‘Snake’ pattern (two rows each above & below).
Exact origin of this piece is unknown, but it seems possible it is North African as this was an area colonized by France beginning in 1830.
Bracelet has a removable silver pin at clasp.

In addition, there appears to be another hallmark or maker’s mark but it is more difficult to make out (see picture 12).

In excellent antique condition. Silver has original patina and has not been polished.
This is a very RARE piece, both the style and the fact of the hallmarks, make it extremely interesting. I’ve never seen anything else like it!
